Pickup Artist mentality is the worst mentality to have. If you have this mentality then: 1. You feel guilty if an unattractive girl walks by you and you don't approach her. 2. You MUST attract every girl you talk to, even if your not attracted to them. 3. You know your successful because of the kiss close you had 2 weeks ago or the gogo dancer you picked up a month ago. Do you relate to this?
I was watching The Pickup Artist (again), and in the final episode Brady says something along the lines of: Kosmo MUST see me as a threat... I mean I did pickup an exotic dancer. That's the ego talking, that's not self esteem. The 3 points above are all ego related. The ego is what sketches the thin line between The Pickup Artist and The Natural. The natural just feels good from within. Yo bro why do you feel good? - I don't know I just do. The pickup artist however uses references to validate himself TO himself. Yo bro why do you feel good? - Well I got to C1 last week and solid kiss closed. The pickup artist goes out to pickup chicks. This concept is from RSD's BluePrints, and Tyler Durden says that (and it COMPLETELY makes sense, I will argue you to death if you say otherwise)... when the Natural goes out, he isnt DOING anything, he is just BEING. He doesnt think I have to go approach that set, he just approaches that set. He doesn't view it as something he has to do, he views it as something that just happens. The Pickup Artist is constantly looking for references to validate himself to himself... to prove to himself he has game. This is good and it is a MUST if you are a beginner, it's the only way to get your confidence up. But once you are constantly able to attract and get to comfort this will hold you down as you will see yourself attracting girls you are not attracted to, and feeling guilty if you don't approach girls your not attracted to. So you must switch over to more of a state of Being, not Doing, and having self esteem, not ego. Add as favourites (32) | Quote this article on your site | Views: 228

Written by Ecko, on 22-08-2008 21:58 love this post! very true but you must have the fundamentals down first before you can allow yourself to have this sort of mindset. i think i heard it from jeffy that the common pattern for being a chode to pua then to natural is: use routines to bread competence then that breads confidence. so if you need to use routines to get get more competent and reference success to yourself at first... its all right. but when you get used to it and find it all the same then try doing some stuff that is not a guideline and break it to build natural confidence. after all, knowing when to be breaking the rules is the difference between rAFC's and masters |
