My exgirlfriend's brother got a bottle smashed on his head at a club. He was hospitalized that night.
He never got in a fight with anyone that night, he never pissed anyone off and he didn't even talk to anyone he didnt know... since he was there with his wife. This simply happened because he looked like someone else.
Peacocking-- wearing an interesting item which stands out, such as a furry hat, colorful scarf, bright shirt, Kanye West shades... something which allows guys and girls to go up to you and use that item as an excuse to start a conversation with you. Girls peacock all the time; mini skirts, pushup bras etc etc
If he had peacocked there is no way that he would have been mistaken for another guy and he wouldn't have had to get those stitches on his head which he was lucky to get.
So if not for the social proof and showing leader of men (every guy giving you props in the club), and if not for a girl whose interested in you complimenting you on your peacock item (using it as an excuse to start a conversation with you), then peacock to save your life.
